History of the UK Coaching Summit

The first UK Coaching Summit was held in April 2006 at the De Vere Belton Woods Hotel, Grantham. It was the culmination of wide ranging consultation to produce the UK Action Plan for Coaching (the UK Coaching Framework). At this event the following declaration was made:

  • This Summit supports the completion and confirmation of the UK Action Plan for Coaching
  • Prior to submission for approval by Ministers
  • And thereafter for implementation

The second Coaching Summit followed this successful event in April 2007 at the same venue. The purpose of the event was to inform and consider progress that has been made over the last 12 months on the development and implementation of the UK Coaching Framework. At the conclusion of the Summit the following declaration was agreed:

  • This Summit formally endorses the UK Coaching Framework
  • And commits to the first stages of implementation
  • Including formal launch and significantly advancing the key elements of ‘Building the Foundation’ by April 2008
