To register your research work on the Coaching Research Database you will need to go through the following process:
Step 1
At the 'Tell Us About Your Research' (Coaching Research Rewiew) homepage press 'Register'.
Step 2
Please entering a unique user name, password, name and e-mail address and then press 'Register' (again). Please keep a record of your user name and password - you will need it everytime you want to change details on the system. If you forget your username or password please e-mail crd@sportscoachuk.org
PLEASE ENSURE YOU CLICK ON THE 'COACHING RESEARCH REVIEW' BOX
Step 3
You will now be at you 'Individual Details' homepage. Press 'Edit Page' and then enter your personal details - name, job title, organisation, address, data of bith and contact details in the boxes provided. Once you have completed this, press 'Save Page'.
We ask for information on date of birth so that we can distinguish between two individuals with the same name, and contact details so that we can contact you if there are any problems. However, it is worth noting that only name, job title and organisation will be viewable on the public site - the remainder of the details are completely secure.
Step 4
Once you have recorded your individual details you should now enter the details of any research projects you have undertaken or are undertaking. Press the 'New Projects' button and enter the details requested including project name, start and finish date, other researchers involved, other institutions involved, background details and methodologies etc. Once you have completed entering your project details press 'Save Page'.
If you have publications associated with the project please press the 'new publication' button. If there are no publications associated with the project and you wish to enter another new project press 'New Project' and fill in the details.
The project concept has been used because researchers may want to publicise new work which does not yet have associated publications. The projects concepts also provides a method of tieing together multiple publications from a particular piece of research work.
Step 5
Once you have entered the appropriate project details you should now enter any publication details associated with it. Press 'New Publication', enter the relevant details, and then 'Save Page'.
Note: it is possible to enter publication details without entering a project first - just press 'New Publication'
Validation
Once you have saved all your Individual Details, Projects and Publications the records will be sent to sports coach UK for cleaning and validation. At this stage scUK will contact you if there are any problems. Once cleaned the records will go on to the searchable site.
Changing and Adding New Material
If you have some new information, some information to update or you realise you have made a mistake you can go back and re-edit existing Individual Details, Projects and Publications. Press the 'Edit Page' button, make the changes, and the press 'Save Page'. The fields that have been changed will then be highlighted in yellow. The changes will then go through the validation process.
Reporting Problems
The database has been thoroughly tested but is still quite new. If you encounter any problems or have any questions on how to use the website please provide a brief description and e-mail it to crd@sportscoachuk.org
