Thu, 20 Dec 2012
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games had a positive impact on coaches and coaching, according to research from sports coach UK.
Coaches felt that the Games helped raise the profile of coaches and coaching and their importance in athletes’ achievements, as well as the time and effort that coaches put in.
The Games also proved to be motivational for coaches with 88 percent of the respondents saying they were inspired to improve their coaching.
Meanwhile, just short of three quarters of those that completed the survey said they were inspired to do more coaching, with 66 percent reporting that to have been the case.
The coaches also noted that the Games provided an opportunity to ensure coaching remained high in the public’s consciousness, and for the development and retention of coaches and workforce planning.
More than 100 coaches completed the survey.Add to My Folder
