Job Title: Sports Coach
Hours: Casual, sub-contractor basis
Pay: Up to £15 per hour
Location: Greater Manchester (non-fixed locations)
Reports to: Coach Manager
This position primarily requires a sports coach to effectively deliver sports coaching sessions within primary school settings inline with the companies coaching programme and curriculum. The coach may also be required to deliver our structured sports leadership programme and a range of positive character workshops and classroom based activities.
Knowledge and Experience:
The coach should have at least 6 months experience of working with children of an age range between 6-11yrs. It is not essential that the coach has worked across all these age ranges but is an advantage. Coaching experience should include working in environments such as schools and in the community. The coach should have a good level of understanding of the sport they deliver as it applies to the various age groups.
Skills and Aptitudes:
The coach should be highly organised around their time and the preparation of their duties. The coach can deliver fun based sport activities in an enthusiastic way that maintains the interest level of the children. The coach has the ability to use a variety of coaching styles to suit the learning needs of the children and situation. The coach has effective communication skills with both children and adults. The coach is able to maintain group control and positive management of behaviour within a coaching group.
- Level 1 qualified in 1 sport essential, Level 2 qualified in additional sports desired.
- Holds First aid and child protection certificate is essential.
- Hold further qualifications such as a sports related degree is desired.
