HRH The Princess Royal was the guest of honour at the sports coach UK Coaching Awards 2007, as the event celebrated its 10th Anniversary.
The glittering ceremony took place at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London on Wednesday 12 December.
HRH The Princess Royal, Minister for Sport the Right Honourable Gerry Sutcliffe MP, and some of the most recognisable names from the world of coaching - including Duncan Fletcher OBE, Amanda Kirby, Frank Dick OBE and Jurgen Grobler OBE - were welcomed to the evening dinner function by sports coach UK Chairman Ian McGeechan OBE.
The event recognises the achievements, hard work and dedication of coaches of children, players and athletes worldwide, from grassroots to elite level. Past winners have included household names such as Sir Alex Ferguson OBE, CBE and Mickey Stewart OBE, as well as unsung heroes like Disability Archery Coach Helen George - who won The Community Sports Coach of the Year Award in 2006.
And as the awards marks its 10th year HRH The Princess Royal, patron of sports coach UK, offered her own congratulations to the winners.
