UK Coaching Framework Programme

The investors and stakeholders of the UK coaching system have endorsed the UK Coaching Framework as the way forward and identified sports coach UK as the stakeholder best able to lead, develop and support implementation of a world-leading coaching system.

A programme-management approach is being used by sports coach UK to guide implementation of the UK Coaching Framework. Key investors and stakeholders have formed a Coaching Strategy Group to oversee delivery of the Programme and act to set policy that will transform each Home Country's coaching system using the UK coaching Framework as a reference point. The changes made by sports and home countries to their coaching systems will be recorded and evaluated by using coaching scorecards.

Three distinct work areas have been identified to help the management and delivery of the UK Coaching Framework Programme. Each has a specific function and has been treated as a separate projects as follows.

1. Development Project: Developing cutting-edge generic technical deliverables
2. Implementation Project: Supporting adaption of the technical deliverables and their use by stakeholders
3. Excellence Project: Aligning governance, investment and managing performance
