Coaching Advisory Group Governing Body Representatives Announced
Following a nomination and voting process the Governing Body representatives of the Coaching Advisory Group were announced at the 3rd UK Coaching Summit.
The Governing Body representatives are: Anne Baker: England Hockey Gary Henderson (Chair): The Rugby Football Union John Mills: British Cycling Liza Baillie: Scottish Squash Spencer Moore: British Swimming Tim Lumb: England and Wales Cricket Board Vinny Webb: The Rugby Football League The role of the Coaching Advisory Group is to: - Represent all Governing Bodies of Sport (GBs) on a UK-wide basis and work in partnership with sports coach UK to advise upon the design, development and implementation of technical developments, philosophy, systems, services programmes affecting the delivery of coaching and coach education within the UK Coaching Framework.
- Provide a two-way communication flow between the Governing Body forum and the Steering Board
Coaching Advisory Group – Terms of Reference Overview: The Coaching Advisory Group will be led by Governing Bodies and will be recognised by sports coach UK as playing a key advisory role in the research, development and design of the UK Coaching Framework and related services and products.The headline functions of the Coaching Advisory Group will be to: - Represent all Governing Bodies of Sport on a UK-wide basis and work in partnership with sports coach UK to advise on the design, development and implementation of technical developments, philosophy, systems, services and programmes affecting the delivery of coaching and coach education within the UK Coaching Framework
- Provide a two-way communication flow between the Governing Body Forum and sports coach UK management team
Specific functions will include: - Provide a governing body perspective on development, implementation and review in the context of the UK Coaching Framework
- Identify the coaching delivery needs of Governing Bodies leading to the design and development of policies and programmes
- Support the design, development and review of all programmes, services and products that support the UK Coaching Framework and that effect Governing Bodies
- Provide the framework for Governing Body Forums where issues relating to the implementation of the UK Coaching Framework can be discussed
- Provide feedback to the Governing Body Forum on the work and progress of the Coaching Advisory Group
- Ensure that any issues that Governing Bodies are unable to resolve through existing mechanisms have a channel through which issues can be addressed and solutions identified
- Elect two Governing Body representatives from the Coaching Advisory Group to represent Governing Bodies at the UK Coaching Strategy Group
- Using the proposed Coaching Score Card – present the view of Governing Bodies on the effectiveness of the implementation of the UK Coaching Framework
- Advise sports coach UK on research, development and reinvestment opportunities
