The World Class Coaching System (WCCS) has been developed by sports coach UK to bring the objectives of the UK Vision for Coaching to life.
The aim of the WCCS is to provide a coach who is fit for purpose and deliver the Right Coach at the Right Place at the Right Time.
The WCCS is a dynamic model for use by the UK Coaching Industry to deliver the UK Vision for Coaching and can be used by organisations in a number of ways to help audit, plan, develop and implement a quality standard of coaching development across the UK.
The model requires organisations to embrace the notion of continuous improvement. To assist organisations to help benchmark where they are currently at and to challenge their next steps, sports coach UK have developed a series of Maturity Matrix.
The Maturity Matrix
The Maturity Matrix is an instrument developed to measure outcome performance. This is an innovative form of managing both soft and harder statistical data in a form which encourages:
- honesty of response
- reflection on practice
- indication of otherwise good practice undermined by weakness in key areas
- ease of comparison between different sectors and levels of management and governance
- opportunity for longitudinal surveys at limited cost
A Maturity Matrix is a table that expresses in english the key elements of a topic and levels of performance or practice attained.
sports coach UK are committed to supporting our partners to audit, plan, develop and implement a quality standard of coaching development across the UK. This support includes:
- 1-2-1 dedicated officer time to Sport England / UK Sport identified priority sports
- national and regional coaching forums
- website based information which can be downloaded to support organisations utilising the WCCS within their coaching provision.
