Safeguarding and Protecting Children - Attendees under the age of 18.
Workshop organisers must notify the sports coach UK Booking Centre Tel. 0845 6013054 or email. scukworkshops@sportscoachuk.org should any 16-18 year old be attending the Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop. This is so they can let the tutor know in advance. We ask that all 16-18 year old be accompanied by either a parent, mentor or coach from the same club who is over 18 and who could spend time with them to answer any specific questions and provide guidance to the coach should they need it along with post-workshop support. However, if the guardian accompanying the under 18 be not actively participating in the workshop, they will not be charged an attendance fee.
Planning and Periodisation: New Workshop Launch
The new Planning and Periodisation workshop and resource have now been launched. Written by Anne Pankhurst, previously of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), now at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) - the new materials are based on the original Goal Setting and Planning workshop and A Guide to Planning Coaching Programmes resource and have been fully updated. They reflect best practice in this area, linked to the latest thinking in Long-term Athlete Development, in particular periodisation of athletes and teams.
