Surrey Community Sports Coach Development Day
A record number of 43 coaches from 13 sports attended the Active Surrey Sports Partnership (ASSP) Coach Development day on Sunday 28 January 2007 in Cobham. For more details click here.

A Framework for the Development of Coaching & Leadership in the South East
Find out more about how sports coach UK, Sport England and Sports Leaders UK have worked to bring together key partners who have a passion for sport and a desire to provide positive experiences for those taking part in activity in the South East region. The South East Regional Coaching and Leadership Framework has been developed to ensure the right building blocks are in place to create an environment that will produce coaches and leaders that are fit for purpose. Partnership In Sport - Working At Its Best
A launch evening was held at Wallingford Sports Park on Thursday 14th September 2006 to welcome two Community Sports coaches who will be working in South Oxfordshire. Mark Scarth, sports coach UK South East Area Manager, gave a presentation about the Community Sports Coach Scheme. Greg Clements attended the evening, as did the Deputy Mayor of Wallingford. Oxfordshire Community Sports Coach Day
24 July 2006
The first Oxfordshire Community Sports Coach CPD day took place on 24 July 2006. The day involved bringing the Oxfordshire CSC's together for the first time to provide training as well as encourage networking and the sharing of good practice. To find out more about the day click here.

Successful Awards for All bid - Girls Football

Congratulations to the Bucks Girls Football League for their successful Awards for All application. Scott Grace, the sports coach UK CDO for Bucks, and Lisa Welling, the Girls & Women's Football Development Officer at Bucks Sport put together an application for the League. A sum of £4,900 has been awarded to help improve club coaching, this will be achieved by running workshops, mentoring schemes, master classes, and offering bursaries for coach education, the award will be used by any clubs involved in the league and involved in coaching girls football.

Oxfordshire took place on 9 June. The day was planned for
School Sport Coordinators and Primary Link Teachers from the
two partnerships.

The first Community Sports Coach (CSC) development
day was held in Surrey at the Woking Leisure Centre.
The day involved bringing the CSCs working in Surrey
together to provide training and encourage networking

Bucks and Milton Keynes PE and Sports Conference 20 March 2006
The third conference for PE teachers, Coaches, Clubs and volunteers in Bucks and Milton Keynes took place at the Stoke Mandeville in Aylesbury.
The event provided a unque opportunity to learn about the latest developments in PE and Community Sports and to meet others involved in these areas.
The afternoon session focussed on PE curriculum issues and over 75 PE teachers, Coaches and Club Volunteers attended the evening session of the conference. Evening speakers included Alison Mowbray (Olympic Silver medalist, Rowing) and Lee Mason (Director, County Sports Partnership). This session also included of the Bucks and Milton Keynes Sports Partnership Coach and Volunteers of the Year Awards, which recognise the invaluable contribution that coaches and volunteers make to youth sport across the county. Surrey Disability Volunteers Fast Track Training Day
The project is aimed at volunteers currently working with disabled people providing some sort of sporting activity. The goal is to train the volunteers to become coaches and start out on the coaching pathway
